2021 Recap

Thank you for financially and prayerfully partnering with us in 2021 as we worked through the year, providing support for children, youth and families in our community and beyond.  Despite the circumstances that took over 2021, your generosity was evident! Here is a recap of 2021:

  • Baby Expos: Held twice in 2021, our Baby Expos helped 51 families with items they needed for their baby first years. Clothing, shoes, blankets, car seats, toys, diapers and more were all offered free of charge to those in need.
  • Easter: Our first Easter event was held right on our property. We had over 10,000 candy filled eggs, games, vendors and more. 300+ children and their families attended.
  • Prom Dress Drive: Prom still looked a little different in most schools due to the pandemic. However, we still went ahead with our prom and was able to get 17 girls and boys in dresses and suits, free of charge!
  • Jesus in a Small Town: Our inaugural Christmas music concert brought in approximately 500 people from all over central Texas. Musical acts included: Light Water & Wilco, Building 429 and Unspoken.
  • Back-to-School Event: Our 4th Annual Back-to-School Event was a huge success. However, over 300 children, representing 114 families, were all were provided new backpacks with school supplies, dental kits, new socks and undergarments, brand new tennis shoes and gently worn clothing. Additional backpacks with school supplies were donated to (2) local children’s shelters. In addition, this year each child was provided with free books, thanks to the UPS Store and Scholastic Books!
  • Essay Contest: In October, 40 boys, ages 8-13 entered the 4:12 Kids sponsored essay contest on “Heroes”. The winner received a brand-new bicycle and accessory pack, valued at approximately $300. The 2nd and 3rd place winners each received a $50 Amazon gift card.
  • Thanksgiving Meals: This year saw a huge increase in the number of Thanksgiving meals we were asked to provide by the local school districts. 235 children and 159 adults in 78 families were provided with everything for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. This was an 80% increase in the number of families served from 2020.
  • Photos with Santa: 60 children were able to have cookies and milk while Santa read them a story. After that, they all had the opportunity to sit on his lap and give him their Christmas list.
  • Santa Letters: Approximately 100 children wrote letters to Santa and dropped them off in our special North Pole Santa Mailbox! Santa was able to write back to each child.
  • Christmas Gifts: As with Thanksgiving, we saw an increase in families needing assistance with Christmas gifts for their children. Nearly 200 children were placed on our Angel Tree and sponsored by the local community!
  • New Year’s Eve Party: We hosted an adult New Year’s Party and Silent Auction. We raised over $2,000 that will go towards 2022 programs and activities.
  • Walk-Ins: 4:12 Kids accepts walk-in appointments all year round. In 2021, we had approximately 46 families come to us for support for items such as shoes, clothing, hygiene items, etc., up from 30 families in 2020.
  • We hired an Office Manager: Yay! Our first paid employee! Jobi is in the office Tuesday – Thursday from 9-4.
  • Awards: In February, we were presented with the 2020 Non-Profit Spirit Award by the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce. In addition, we received the 2021 Best of Caldwell County Non-Profit Award. We were truly honored to receive both awards and know that we could not accomplish anything without the support of donors and volunteers like you.
  • Volunteers: Our volunteers amassed over 750 volunteer hours!
  • New Board Members: We added two new Board Members this year. We still have vacancies for a Treasurer and Secretary and additional Board Member positions. Visit our website if interested!

2022 is going to be an even bigger year as we add new programs and opportunities. Among them will be the start of our Mentorship Program which we are super excited about.

We are merely the hands and feet of these programs; we could not have accomplished all we have done without your support. It is truly amazing to see what God is doing in and through 4:12 Kids and we are excited to see what 2022 has in store for us.
