2021 Essay Contest

The Fall 2021 4:12 Kids’ Essay Contest is open to boys within 30 miles of Lockhart, Texas who are between the ages of 8-13. This year’s subject is “HEROES. Do you have a hero? Is he / she a real person or fictional character? What is that person your hero? What are the qualities that make someone a hero?”

HOW TO ENTER: Essays must be written utilizing the Essay Topic prompt listed above. Essay may be of any length and may be handwritten or typed; judges scores will not be dependent on these criteria. All essays must include: Child’s Name, Age, Grade, School Attending, Mailing Address and a Parent / Guardian Contact Phone Number. This information may be included on the written essay or on a separate sheet of paper.  Mail entries to: 4:12 Kids PO Box 1324 Lockhart, TX 78644.  Essays may also be dropped off in person at the 4:12 Kids’ Office: 521 N. Pecos Street in Lockhart. All entries must be received during the Contest Entry Period. Mailed entries must be postmarked no later than October 21st to be considered. Emailed submissions or submissions by methods other than those stipulated in these Official Rules will not be accepted.

Grand Prize Winner will receive Bicycle Prize Pack (ARV $250)

  • Recognition on the 4:12 Kids’ website, e-mails and social media.
  • (2) Runner-Ups will each receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card. (ARV $50 each), as well as recognition on the 4:12 Kids’ website, emails and social media.
